I imagine Dr. Mann was initially very concerned for Ben upon arriving at the site, but discovering no blood or remaining entrails quickly drove her to utilize her keen scientific instincts, detect his presence at the Henreavy camp, and immediately return to her pursuit of science.

So yes, she expressed concern, if but for a brief moment.  Like many graduate advisors.  Empathy is real, even when viewed through tenure-colored glasses.
