Some actual plot development, how about that

Dante is ending Surviving the World by the end of the week, so this is about to become his only 'regular' comic. Please continue to enjoy as you will.

Also we here at PhD Unknown recently passed our fifth anniversary. Thank you all for reading and enjoying.

We just wanted to quickly note the Patreon situation which had happened while we were working on this page.  Patreon had issued a plan that would have raised the fees on all patrons each month and would have started in January, and we were very much opposed to this plan as was nearly every other creator and patron on the site.  Patreon has since changed their plan and will remain with the old system, which is excellent news.  Really, we have been able to do so much based on your support, and the ability for you to simply support our comic-making at $1/month is all we hope that you are able to contribute, if you can.  It may not seem like much, but it helps to ensure Joan can pay for her rent and take on less freelance work so that we can make more comics for you.  We're going to keep working to do the best we can in bringing you this story, and for those of you who are so kind and wonderful as to be able to help us do that, we want to make sure that your support is utilized well and helps ensure that you get the comics you are supporting.  So thank you, all of you, and we'll continue to make sure that the supporting system like Patreon treats you as you should be treated.  Thanks!

Comic!

The slow devolution of Gwen's sanity can only bring good things, for sure.

 I don't have a lot of faith in these two adults anymore, maybe you probably don't either.

Yeah, this chapter is very Vonnie-centric.  We're about to have some fun.

 Kelly's blindness is actually working in her favor here, but that doesn't really help against Lengerich saliva.

Gwen's struggling to make sense of things right now, and you can't really blame her.

Get ready for a Gwen-centric arc!

This will be a fun chapter, primarily based on one splash page that I am looking to Joan drawing.  Also this arc will be pretty heavy with everyone's favorite character, which is a little overdue.

We've hit some goal levels with our Patreon, so we're going to be able to start putting out comic pages a little more consistently moving forward!  Thank you for your support!

This is the end of chapter 4!  Maybe you didn't see where this was heading, but hopefully it all makes sense if you go back and read the chapter from the beginning.

Next chapter is going to be a good Gwen arc, and we're going to make sure you see a lot more of everyone's favorite Lengerich, too, since poor Vonnie has been out of the picture too much for a little while.

Things ain't easy for Dr. Mann right now.  She deserves some of it, but not all, that's for sure.

We know this is a terrible week to have a quick filler break, given the current development in the chapter, but there was some shady landlord dealings which have slowed us down this week.  So here's a great drawing of Ben by Joan.  We'll be back next week with your regularly scheduled monster story / graduate school memoir!
